Overview

The Corporate Director of Health and Welfare Benefits  at Fidelity National Financial in Jacksonville Florida is responsible for researching, creating , leading,  implementing and appraising the administration of the benefits  team  and communications of corporate benefit plans for all U.S. locations. This position requires strong knowledge of Employee Health and Welfare plans, the ability to work independently with limited direction and extensive vendor relations and supervisory skills.   This position reports to the Sr. Vice President of Corporate Human Resources.

 

Duties

  • Designs, implements, manages and tracks the performance and effectiveness of all Corporate Health and Welfare benefit plans.
  • Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements as it relates to benefits programs.
  • Provides expert consultative support to managers and employees on employee Health and Welfare benefit plans, policies and procedures.
  • Project and vendor management as it relates to benefit programs.
  • Supervises the benefits team which currently includes 3 employees.  This includes coaching, counseling and disciplining employees if needed, planning, monitoring, training and appraising job results.
  • Creates and distributes corporate communications as it relates to benefit programs
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing the benefits budget and analyzing variances and discrepancies.
  • Consults legal support as necessary.

Requirements

  • Strong overall experience in managing people and processes including vendor and project management.
  • A complete understanding of all requirements related to government policies and regulation including ERISA law.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability in consulting and influencing business partners in a positive manner.
  • Experience in dealing and presenting to all level of the employee base including the executive level.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of HR information systems.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • 5 years plus experience in a like position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Additional Information

Does require some travel inside the US.
