Overview

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Corporate Accountant sits in FNF's Corporate Accounting department and will specialize in accounting for payroll, payroll taxes and benefits. This includes heavy analysis and resolution skills as reconciling items are identified. There will be constant communication with contacts in each of the specific areas as well as other members of the Corporate Accounting department. Responsible for detailed reconciliations, analytics and addressing questions from other areas of accounting, including field requests.

 

LOCATION

  • This is a hybrid role out of our HQ in Jacksonville, FL
  • Ability to work 3 days from home per week

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for analyzing, reconciling and resolving payroll, payroll taxes and benefits
  • Cross-functionally works with multiple contacts within various departments to review and resolve issues
  • Prepares and analyzes balance sheets and income statements for a select group of operations
  • Reconciles and researches various activities from Payroll and Human Resources systems
  • Interfaces with local accountants to understand activity recorded to each operation 
  • Prepares or reviews account analyses and makes necessary journal entries to adjust account balances
  • Identifies areas or processes that can be improved or made more efficient
  • Prepares and reviews certain SOX controls
  • Performs ad hoc research on accounts or operations under accountants responsibility
  • Performs and prepares analyses and reports as requested by management
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related discipline required
  • Requires 3+ years of accounting, financial analysis, or related work experience
  • Strong Excel experience with the ability to perform Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPS

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in payroll, payroll tax and benefits accounting
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient with MS 365 applications
  • Oracle and/or Workday experience
  • Experience in performing Income Statement and Balance Sheet trend analysis
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to maintain work priorities in an environment with multiple concurrent tasks and projects and maintain flexibility related to assigned tasks
