Overview

Seeking a well-organized and motivated Systems Engineer to join our vulnerability remediation team. The candidate will be able to hit the ground running as part of the infrastructure End User Compute group at our Fortune 300 company with nationwide reach. This position reports to our Jacksonville, Florida corporate headquarters. FL candidates preferred, will consider a highly matched candidate for remote work.

Duties

• General remediation of security vulnerabilities across the enterprise for workstations and servers.
• Provides support for security and compliance initiatives such as vulnerability remediation programs both ongoing and ad hoc.
• Deploys software updates through enterprise tools, such as Tanium, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Configuration Manager, Windows Update for Business, and using scripting such as PowerShell.
• Packages and deploys software and configuration in response to identified vulnerabilities.
• Monitors and reports deployments to requestors and management.
• Responds to service incidents and acts as an escalation point for enterprise IT staff for Windows platform issues and Corporate IT standards.
• Strict adherence to change control and communications policies and procedures.
• As part of a team, establishes and maintains technical standards, policies, and procedures for the enterprise, as they relate to vulnerability management on endpoints, including workstations and servers.
• Management of operating systems as enterprise standards including Windows Client, Windows Server, and Linux distributions, and maintenance of said OS’s using management platforms.
• Implements policies and maintains policy compliance working across disciplines within and out of IT.
• Manages projects within end user computing disciplines including vendor management and coordination with internal teams.
• Produces clear, timely documentation of work planned, in progress and completed. The audience for this will range from internal teams to IT to end users. 

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience.

Experience

• Tanium
• Microsoft Intune
• Microsoft Configuration Manager (formerly SCCM) Current Branch
• PowerShell scripting
• Familiarity with T-SQL
• Patch My PC
• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or Power BI report creation and maintenance
• Autopilot
• Other software packaging tools experience

 

• 5+ years managing and troubleshooting a managed Microsoft Windows environment including:
o Tanium or Microsoft Configuration Manager (formerly SCCM) particularly in a co-managed environment.
o Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy configuration and administration.
o Windows Client and Server experience.
o PowerShell scripting.
o Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Windows performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and networking technologies.
o Working knowledge of modern networking concepts and interoperability. 
o Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
o Team collaboration skills, communication, and drive to ensure constant improvement in service, capabilities, and results.

Additional Information

Pluses:  
• Experience with PowerShell Application Deployment Toolkit (PSADT).
• Experience with ServiceNow or another service management platform.
• Strong documentation skillset.
• Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of IT across multiple disciplines.
• Ability to internally market corporate enterprise initiatives to internal customers both in and out of IT.
• Understanding of ITIL/Service Management processes.
• Experience with cloud hosted environments preferred- Azure skills a plus.
