Overview

This position is responsible for managing commercial and residential real property escrow transactions.

Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the complete escrow transaction through research, expert knowledge, and consultation with parties involved.
• Direct and perform a variety of duties involving the preparation and closing of an escrow transaction .
• Accurately complete and calculate all settlement costs associated with escrow transactions.
• Transmit disbursements of any monies held in escrow relating to repairs, assessments, taxes, and other purposes.
• Create escrow instructions and agreements according to Company policy as supported by state and federal regulations.
• Controls process of necessary legal papers and written escrow agreements in accordance with contract.
• Proofread and transmit title policies and other applicable papers to parties involved.
• Generate, establish, and maintain business relationships, new customer business and current customer base; perform public relations functions in accordance with the sales and marketing programs .
• Manage a profitable escrow desk.
• Train, assign, and review work of lower level employees involved in escrow work.


NON ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
• Attend business networking events to initiate new business.
• Provide general escrow customer service.
• Coordinate with other branch Escrow Officers for desk coverage and back up.
• Perform other title and escrow tasks to sustain a profitable branch.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Experienced Escrow Officer highly preferred.
• Extensive experience handling all levels of an escrow transaction in a progressively responsible escrow assistant role, including working with complex escrow transactions, required.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. 
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workload.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of title and escrow rules and regulations, processes and terms related to escrow instructions, title insurance, real estate, and legal and financial documents; and of performing mathematical calculations related to escrow.
• Analytical ability sufficient to perform assignments guided by general escrow procedures with minimal instructions from superior; and to complete escrow transactions requiring interpretation of highly complex terms and contingencies. Complex assignments require meeting customer requirements and deadlines or a substantial monetary loss to the company may result.
• Ability to maintain focus, concentration, and composure with an interrupted workflow, especially with stressful and complex escrow transactions and interaction with difficult clients.
• Ability to plan and carry out an efficient escrow process.
• Strong interpersonal skills required to guide and maintain effective relationships with other employees and the public.
• Computer skills operating common word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications.
