Overview

Chicago Title Company, LLC is currently seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter in its downtown Indianapolis office to become part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional service to the real estate services industry.

Duties

  • Analyze legal issues and mitigate risk related to commercial real estate transactions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to find solutions to commercial real estate transactions in Indiana.
  • Act as an underwriting point person on transactions, with emphasis on: reviewing title insurance commitments, incorporating surveys and other due diligence materials into the risk assessment, managing client communication and negotiations, and -issuing policies.

Education

5-10 years title underwriting experience, commercial experience preferred, but not required.

Experience

  • Must have some familiarity with real estate law, including basic real estate state regulations.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of real estate title processes.
  • Strong analytical rigor and business acumen.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to provide alternative solutions or convey unpopular information with tact.
  • Capacity for abstract, creative thinking with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Ability to collaborate and act decisively, building relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and timely follow up.
  • Ability and willingness to work as an integral part of a team with a drive to succeed in every real estate transaction.
