Overview

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Network Engineering will lead and manage a team of engineers dedicated to the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the FNF’s network infrastructure. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring high-performance and secure connectivity across the 1200+ branches, 5 datacenters and multiple business units for enterprise voice and data. The manager will develop and implement strategies for network improvements, work in close collaboration with the Director of Global Network Services to ensure alignment with FNF networking strategies, and ensure compliance with industry best practices, ISO, and FNF policies, processes, and procedures. Additionally, this role will oversee the resolution of complex technical issues, provide mentorship and training to the team, and facilitate collaboration with other IT teams and stakeholders. This individual will leverage their deep understanding of network SDWAN and Datacenter technologies, excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills to lead this team.

LOCATION

This position can typically operate remotely, with occasional requirements for travel to work in data centers or on-site locations. The role may require after-hours support to address critical network issues.  Preferred location of Jacksonville, FL but will consider remote candidates willing to travel monthly to Jacksonville headquarters. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITITES

  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure network solutions.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network solutions with other systems.
  • Develop and enforce network policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve network performance and security.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement of network hardware and software.
  • Prepare and manage the network engineering budget.
  • Transform a traditional network engineering team to a platform engineering, automation, and cloud first biased team.
  • Identifies, recommends, and drives multi-year Network technology strategies to address business needs and unlocks business capabilities.
  • Translates the company/area strategic vision into actionable goals and objectives and key results measures for the team.
  • Drives and builds continual improvements into goals and yearly plans.
  • Actively engages with our product engineering teams to execute strategic efforts including Cloud migration, data center migrations and modernization.
  • Hire, mentor, coach, and support our culture of building extra-ordinary talent in a performance culture.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Experienced leader that can build and manage high performing engineer teams and manage teams cross-functionally.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software.
  • Proven experience in network automation technologies.
  • Experience with Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN), DevOps, and virtualization.
  • Experience with traditional, cloud native, or open-source network observability/monitoring tool stack for actionable business or service insights (e.g., ExtraHop, Net Spyglass, Thousand Eyes, AppNeta, etc.).
  • Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot Wi-Fi (e.g, access points) and networking infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated leadership responsibilities in a large-scale global network in private/on-prem and public cloud environments such as Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with network design and implementation in large-scale hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiar with open-source technologies and deep knowledge of public cloud offerings.
  • Experience with DevOps & ITIL approach in running a superior service operations & delivery function.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize initiatives and features to align with strategic objectives and with business goals; ability to assign recurring tasks and to utilize metrics to measure effectiveness.
  • Thorough understanding of operational support processes, excellent business acumen and ability to direct team in dissecting and diagnosing complex problems; effectively managing relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners; comfortably interacts and presents ideas and concepts to senior management.
  • Proficient in management of services globalization – MSP model.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE).
  • Experience with Multitenant environments.
  • Experience with Hybrid IT support model for Branch locations.
  • Knowledge and experience with SDWAN, Arista Core Switching (EVPN), Aruba L2 Switching/AP, Infoblox, and Cloud Networking.
