The Customer Service Representative / Title Officer serves as a key liaison between the company and agents. This role is responsible for providing accurate and timely information, answering inquiries, and resolving issues, while also examining and verifying property titles to ensure they are valid and legal. The position involves conducting title searches, analyzing documents, and maintaining high levels of productivity, customer service, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Customer Service
• Operate within a ticketing-based platform to track customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Review search packages and reports to assist customers in understanding title-related concerns.
• Answer incoming calls and provide accurate information regarding title products and services.
• Explain chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to customers, managers, underwriters, and other parties as needed.
• Maintain a customer-focused approach while adhering to company policies and practices.
Title Examination
• Examine title orders within company guidelines to determine conditions of title, including analyzing documents like mortgages, liens, judgments, and legal descriptions to verify ownership and encumbrances.
• Assess risks and liabilities and take action to mitigate issues that may jeopardize the company’s interests.
• Prepare and review accurate and comprehensive title reports in accordance with company policies.
• Identify and resolve any deficiencies in title search packages before release.
General Duties
• Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and good housekeeping practices.
• Collaborate with onshore/offshore resources to assist with identifying issues and assisting with developing solutions.
• Assist offshore resources with order clarifications.
• Communicate with agency underwriting to address and resolve title search report inquiries.
• Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of title exam experience and 2+ years in customer service, with general knowledge of the title industry.
• Commercial searching experience is a plus.
• Underwriting experience preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be detail-oriented, customer service-driven, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with industry concepts, practices, and procedures, including associated risks and liabilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications and other industry-related software used to perform job duties.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated judgment and experience in planning and accomplishing goals
