POSITION OVERVIEW
As an Escrow Administrator at Charter Title Company, you will lead and oversee the daily operations of our escrow department, ensuring smooth, compliant, and timely closings for residential and commercial real estate transactions. You’ll manage a team of escrow officers and support staff, foster strong relationships with clients and partners, and uphold our commitment to service excellence and operational integrity.

- This is an onsite position at our Houston, TX office
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
- Supervise and support escrow staff in all aspects of the closing process
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and underwriting guidelines
- Manage company license renewals for Charter and Commonwealth
- Assist escrow officers with license applications and renewal processes
- Review and resolve complex escrow issues and escalations
- Collaborate with title officers, lenders, real estate agents, and attorneys to facilitate seamless transactions
- Monitor workflow, productivity, and quality control within the escrow department
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to promote professional growth and performance
- Maintain accurate records and reporting for internal and external audits
- Ensure fee attorneys meet compliance requirements and stay current with TDI regulations
- Support audit processes (TDI & FNF), including signing and submitting T-00s and OOC policies.
- Report HOI policies and assist fee attorneys with closing preparation and funding as needed.
- Run and distribute monthly 1099 exception reports; increase frequency in December to meet year-end deadlines
- Provide backup support for bring-to-dates and bank deposits when team members are out
- Occasionally coordinate closings in the absence of escrow officers
- Handle escalated customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have a valid escrow officer license for the state of Texas
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in escrow operations
- Minimum of 2+ years of managerial experience
- In-depth knowledge of escrow procedures, title insurance, and real estate transactions
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with escrow software and digital transaction tools
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience working within the Fidelity National Financial family of companies
