Overview

Review, revise and produce title commitments, proforma policies and final title policies related to commercial properties in Arizona. Review documents, surveys, and title objection letters. Analyze title issues and mitigate risk in an underwriting capacity. Monitor and prioritize work tasks to ensure a high level of productivity. Provide direction in a professional and positive manner through verbal and written communications with all parties involved in consummating commercial real estate transactions.

Duties

  • Analyze legal issues and mitigate risk related to commercial real estate transactions
  • Collaborate with colleagues to find solutions to commercial real estate transactions
  • Act as an underwriting point person on transactions, with emphasis on: reviewing title insurance commitments, -incorporating surveys and other due diligence materials into the risk assessment, -managing client communication and negotiations, and -issuing policies

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Experience

Significant experience producing and revising title commitments and proforma policies for commercial properties. Ability to read and plot metes and bounds legal descriptions. Ability to review ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys. Ability to review organizational documents to determine authorized signer. Ability to proficiently use SoftPro, Data Trace, TitlePoint and Outlook. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Investigative skills. Problem solver. Detail and quality oriented. Provide positive customer experience.

 

  • Must have some familiarity with real estate law, including basic real estate state regulations
  • Strong understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of real estate title processes
  • Strong analytical rigor and business acumen
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to provide alternative solutions or convey unpopular information with tact
  • Capacity for abstract, creative thinking with a solution-oriented approach
  • Ability to collaborate and act decisively, building relationships internally and externally
